Breaking

She is breaking, but you would never know. Her eyes shine, in the midst of a conversation. She tosses her head back in laughter, flicking her long hair over her shoulders. Talking endlessly, hands flying around making grand gestures. Her mood is infectious. The people around her smile an listen to her tell her stories. He sits down and joins the gossip. Listening to her engage all who would listen.  You'd never catch it, the slight flicker of her blue eyes. She only glances down for a moment, losing her confidence. A moment that would go unnoticed. She keeps her head up and catches his eye. She is broken, but you would never know.
