Just one kids opinion

All this talk about the whale has really got me thinking. I am an animal lover of course, but not a fanatic. I am all for saving animals and such, but I'm not about to go saving all the stray dogs I see. Seeing all the people going down to take a look at the beached baby makes me sick. Kids posing in front of it, tossing up the 'peace sign' for their friends waiting cameras. Children running up and touching it, running their slimy kid fingers across its blubbery body. A place for this animal to die should be a peaceful one, a resting place for it to quietly pass on to whale afterlife. Not a crowded beach with touristy onlookers wanting to get a glance just to say they saw the 'beached whale.' The fact that it was tangled in fishing nets makes matters even worse. While people rush down to take a look at it, they are in a way looking at a whale they killed, or humans killed with their nets of destruction. These people will all go about their days and never give any of it another thought.  People gather around a beached humpback whale that died during low tide in White Rock, B.C.
